A Mexican football star, Alana Pulido who was kidnapped in Mexico on Saturday night has been rescued by authorities, according to state officials. Pulido was rescued shortly before midnight Sunday in "a city operation in conjunction with the federal government," according to a statement from the Tamaulipas government.

Family members told authorities that six armed men snatched Pulido around dawn in his home town of Ciudad Victoria in the northwest of the country.
Military and police forces had been searching for the 25-year-old in Tamaulipas, which shares a border with the US.
"I'm good, I'm good, thank you," Alan Pulido with an injured hand,said as he faced reporters alongside the governor of Mexico's Tamaulipas state, Egidio Torre CantĂș, in a video posted on Twitter.
"Pulido is currently being medically evaluated and more details on the rescue operation will be sent out later," the statement said.
